We hope all our friends and families at St. Michael are enjoying the week of spring break!
St. Michael the Archangel Catholic High School is WHERE YOU BELONG! It has been amazing to see so many new students enrolling for the next school year. We've had another record-setting enrollment!
There's still time to apply for the 2023-2024 school year at smacatholic.org.
Congratulations Zach Berry!
Zach will continue his education at Benedictine College where he will play football! We are proud of how Zach has represented St. Michael during his high school football career, not only as a Guardian, but also at the Blue Grey All-American Bowl game in January.
Good luck Zach!
Congratulations to our girls basketball team on their new title of District Champions! Watch them tomorrow, Tuesday, March 7 at 6:00 p.m. at William Jewel College.

A note from Father Sappington and Sister Katharine Rose as we start our Lenten season today, on Ash Wednesday.
"It is with hearts ready and eager to continue our journey of ‘walk[ing] together’ this year that we invite you to join us during this Lenten season to practice prayer, fasting, and almsgiving."
"We pray that these next forty days of Lent are a time for your family to awaken your souls and prepare your hearts to sing God’s praises throughout eternity."

We're recognizing Black History Month and the Feast of St. Josephine Bakhita, one of our Community Saints at St. Michael the Archangel.
Saint Josephine Margaret Bakhita was born in a village of Sudan. As a child, she was kidnapped and sold multiple times as a slave until one owner turned her over to the care of the Canossian Sisters in Venice.
From there, she was freed as a slave and took her final vows and assigned to a convent in Schio, Vicenza. In 2000, she was declared a Saint, the first black woman to receive the honor in the modern era. St. Bakhita is the patron saint of human trafficking survivors.
St. Josephine Bakhita, pray for us.
Join us for our third Encounter of the year for a night of praise and worship music, Eucharistic Adoration, a great student witness, and Confession. The evening will begin at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 15 and end at 8:30 p.m.
All are welcome (families, friends, etc.). We look forward to praying with you and for our school community. If you have any questions, please contact Ms. Eilerman (keilerman@smacatholic.org).

"Serving others is one of our core pillars at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic High School. We are proud to partner with Happy Bottoms this week. Donations from today's dress down day and tonight's Fun Night directly serve low-income families by alleviating diaper need in the KC community. I can't think of a better way to celebrate Catholic Schools Week than by serving others in need and encouraging our students and families to do the same!" - Ms. Lohman, Department Chair / Teacher

During Catholic Schools Week, our students participated in Eucharistic Procession. This activity is a beautiful expression of our love for Jesus and reminds us of our spiritual journey toward eternal life with God.
We are celebrating all the reasons why being at a Catholic School is so special. "SMA has soul. You feel it the minute you walk in the door. It emanates from the chapel in the middle of the school, thrives in the faculty and staff and lives in the students. As a parent of students there, this is the type of faith-based environment I want my children to learn and thrive in." - Rob Rastorfer, SMA Parent
Celebrate Catholic Schools Week with our Annual Fun Night including Dodgeball for Diapers and Mr. Guardian Contest! Start the evening off with our Chipotle fundraiser which can be carried into the Commons area before the festivities kick off. It's sure to be a good time!
